Who we are
SWIMR is operated by SWIMR Technologies Ltd (company number 17479534), registered at 10 All Saints View, Loughborough, LE11 1UZ, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. This policy covers the SWIMR app and this website. You can reach us at hello@joinswimr.com.

- Content you create: posts, photos, captions, comments and likes, and the accounts you follow.
- Technical data: device type, app version, crash reports and the token needed to send you push notifications.
This website does not use cookies or analytics. Our hosting provider processes basic technical data, such as IP addresses, to deliver the site.
How we use it
We use your data to run SWIMR: to create your account, show your swims and posts to you and to other swimmers according to your settings, show rankings and totals, send notifications you have switched on, and keep the app safe and working. We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
Health data
Heart rate and other health related data is only collected with your permission. Your heart rate data is visible only to you. Data from Apple Health is never used for advertising, marketing or data mining, is never sold and is never shared with third parties for marketing. You can withdraw your permission at any time in your device settings.
Legal basis
We process your data because it is needed to provide the service you signed up for, because you have given your consent (for health data and notifications), and because we have a legitimate interest in keeping SWIMR secure and reliable.
Who we share it with
We share data only with service providers that help us run SWIMR, such as providers that host our data, connect wearable devices and report crashes. They act on our instructions and must protect your data to the same standard we do. Some of them may process data outside the United Kingdom, in which case we rely on appropriate safeguards. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account we delete or anonymise your personal data, except where we are required by law to keep it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, and you can object to or restrict certain uses. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email hello@joinswimr.com to use these rights. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account in the app under Settings, or by emailing us from the address linked to your account.
Children
SWIMR is not intended for children under 13.
